The Eucalyptus tree is a tall, fragrant evergreen native to Australia. This beautiful tree can grow up to 270-375 feet high. The young trees have oval bluish-green leaves while the mature trees develop long, narrow, yellowish leaves and creamy-white flowers. The tree has a beautiful smooth, pale grey bark. Today this majestic tree is cultivated in Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Russia and China along with Australia.

Eucalyptus essential oil is clear in color and is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of the Eucalyptus tree.  There are over 500 types of Eucalyptus tree species which can yield an essential oil, but one of the most commonly used for natural skincare is Eucalyptus Globulus.

Eucalyptus is a marvelously versatile and useful oil.  It cools the body in summer and protects it in winter.  It is also a good insect repellant and an excellent cleanser and detoxifier. The Aborigines of Australia believed that Eucalyptus oil cleared the mind and eliminated evil thoughts. 

Eucalyptus essential oil is packed with aromatherapy and skincare benefits. It is fantastic on skin ailments such as burns, blisters, cuts, wounds, insect bites, lice, and skin infections. It is antiseptic, analgesic, antiviral and deodorizing.
