The Great Salt Lake in Utah is often referred to as America's Dead Sea. Over millions of years, the hot dry air and high evaporation rate in this region have contributed to high salt concentration. The dead seas contain more salts and minerals than ordinary sea water with high concentrations of Bromide, Bitumen, Calcium, Chlorine, Iodine, Potassium, and Magnesium, and Zinc - minerals which are recognized for imparting a relaxed feeling and nourishing the skin. This powerful combination of minerals give dead sea salts the ability to moisturize, detoxify and soften the skin while relaxing the body.
It is important to support and nurture the skin in order to restore health and enhance function. Our skin covers up to 21 square feet and weighs up to 7 lbs. Each day we get rid of about 4% of our entire complement of skin cells.
The skin is an incredible organ of the body. It is the largest organ in the human body and our first protection from the environment. It protects us from the elements and from loss of essential nutrients, salts and water from the body. Our skin helps regulate our fluid levels and temperatures, breathes in air and gets rid of unwanted material. The skin is covered in countless tiny pores which take in from the atmosphere around and eliminate anything not wanted. If the pores are clogged with creams that do not allow the skin to breathe, then the natural shedding process can be inhibited. Dead skin cells will then build up on the top layer and the skin will become dull and lifeless.
The concentrated mineral salt from the sea softens skin and acts as a detoxifying cleanser that draws impurities out of the body through the skin.
- Magnesium promotes healing of skin tissue.
- Bromide soothes skin and relaxes muscles.
- Calcium helps to cleanse pores and is a building block for corrective tissue under the skin surface.
- Sodium helps improve skin's permeability so that it retains moisture better. It also relieves stiffness and muscle cramps.
- Sulfur is a natural disinfectant.
- Potassium is a moisture regulator which helps to maintain a neutral environment in the skin.

- Remove dry skin - After bathing, while you're still wet, gently massage with dead sea salts to remove dead skin particles and aid in circulation.
- Be careful not to bathe with water too hot as this will decrease the benefits. Essential oils that are included with the salts will evaporate too quickly.
- Add two cups of salt to a hot bath and soak your worries away while the salt works to condition skin and relax sore muscles.
- Polish your skin with the therapeutic benefits of dead sea salts. Exfoliating loofahs leave your skin satiny smooth and well-toned.
